COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – UNLV junior Alyssa Brown has been named the Mountain West Women’s Basketball Player of the Week, while San José State’s Jyah LoVett has been tabbed the MW Women’s Basketball Freshman of the Week.

ALYSSA BROWN, UNLV

- Led UNLV to a win over Colorado State (83-78) to keep the Lady Rebels perfect in Conference play.
- Recorded her first double-double with a season-high 14 points and a career-best 17 rebounds at Moby Arena.
- Shot 4-of-5 from the field, 1-of-2 from beyond the arc and 5-of-7 from the free throw line.
- Also recorded two assists and one block against the Rams.
FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK
JYAH LOVETT, SAN JOSÉ STATE
Guard, San Gabriel, California/Bella Vista College Prep.
- Helped the Spartans to a 1-1 record in league action with a win over Utah State (69-54) and loss to Fresno State (67-70).
- Averaged 23.5 points in her first two Mountain West games, shooting 18-of-21 from the field, 6-of-8 from behind the arc and perfect from the free throw line (5-of-5).
- Against Fresno State, tallied a career-high 26 points while also contributing two boards, two steals and one assist for the Spartans.
- Against the Aggies, logged 21 points, four assists, three steals and two rebounds.
