  • The Mountain West is celebrating its 25th season of men’s basketball during the 2023-24 campaign.
  • In the current NET rankings, the Mountain West has five programs ranked among the top 35: Colorado State (19), San Diego State (21), Utah State (25), Nevada (30) and New Mexico (35).
  • The Mountain West is one of four conferences (Big 12, 7; Big East 5; MW, 5; SEC, 5) with five or more teams ranked among the top 35 of the current NET rankings.
  • The MW is one of five conferences (A10, Big 12, Big Ten, Pac-12) with every school ranked among the top 237 of the current NET rankings.
  • The Mountain West is 104-38 (.732) in nonconference action in 2023-24, the fourth-best nonconference record among the 32 conferences. The MW has had a nonconference winning percentage of .600 or better in each of the last four seasons.
  • The top five teams in the MW standings (Colorado State, Nevada, New Mexico, San Diego State, and Utah State) are a combined 67-8 on the season.
  • The Mountain West is the only conference that has five teams with 13 or more wins on the year.

  • The Mountain West is the only conference to have all its teams finish the nonconference slate with a winning percentage above .500.
  • Three Mountain West teams are ranked in this week’s Associated Press poll, with Colorado State at No. 17, San Diego State at No. 19 and Utah State at No. 20. The Rams are also ranked No. 18 in the USA Today Coaches poll followed by San Diego State at No. 19 and Utah State at No. 23.
  • Three MW teams are ranked in the Associated Press poll, marking the first time since 2012 and third time in league history to have three squads ranked among the top 20 of the AP
  • The Mountain West is one of six conferences (ACC, Big 12, Big East, Big Ten, SEC) to have three or more teams ranked in the national polls this week.
  • Heading into the 10th week of the season, Nevada and New Mexico are receiving votes in the national polls.
  • Two MW guards rank among the top four in the nation in total assists. Colorado State’s Isaiah Stevens is third with 111 assists, while Utah State’s Darius Brown III is fourth with 110 assists.
  • Two players from the Mountain West are among the top 15 in the country in double-doubles posted. San Diego State’s Jaedon LeDee and Utah State’s Great Osobor are tied for 15th with seven each.
  • Mountain West programs have won six nonconference tournaments this season. Colorado State won the Hall of Fame Classic, Nevada won the Diamond Head Classic, New Mexico won a share of the Ball Dawgs Classic title, San Diego State won both the SoCal Showcase and Continental Tire Main Event and Utah State won the Cayman Islands Classic.
