COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Colorado State graduate Isaiah Stevens has been named the Mountain West Men’s Basketball Player of the Week, while New Mexico’s Tru Washington was tabbed the MW Freshman of the Week.

 

MEN’S BASKETBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK

ISAIAH STEVENS, COLORADO STATE

Graduate, Guard, Allen, Texas/Allen HS

  • Led Colorado State to a pair of wins over in-state rival Colorado (88-83) and Washington (86-81).
  • Averaged 16 points, eight assists and two steals, helping the Rams remain unbeaten on the season.
  • Posted an assist-to-turnover ratio of 2.3.
  • Recorded third double-double of the year after registering 20 points and 11 assists against Colorado.
  • Scored 10 of 12 points in the second half to lead CSU to a comeback win over Washington on a neutral court.

 

MEN’S BASKETBALL FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK

TRU WASHINGTON, NEW MEXICO

Guard, Phoenix, Arizona/AZ Compass Prep

  • Helped New Mexico to a 2-0 record with victories over Louisiana Tech (74-65) and in-state rival New Mexico State (106-62).
  • Averaged 15.5 points, 4.5 rebounds and 4.5 assists per game, while shooting 60 percent from the field.
  • Recorded 10 points, four rebounds and three assists against La Tech.
  • Scored a career- high 21 points and career-best six assists against the Aggies. Also had five boards.
