TYLER, Texas – Boise State running back Ashton Jeanty has been named the Earl Campbell Tyler Rose Award Player of the Week, the Tyler Chamber and SPORTyler announced.

Jeanty led the Broncos to a 27-19 win over Air Force, totaling 225 yards from scrimmage. He ran for 107 yards on 14 carries and caught five passes for 118 yards, making him the first Bronco with 100 rushing yards and 100 receiving yards in a game since Jeremy McNichols did it in 2016.

The sophomore had a career-long 75-yard touchdown reception in the second quarter and ran for a 50-yard touchdown in the third quarter. He has 1,650 yards from scrimmage this season, ranking second nationally despite missing 2.5 games. His performance boosted the Broncos to a crucial win in the final home game, giving them a 6-2 record in the Mountain West and a spot in the MW Championship game.

This is the first time Jeanty has earned Earl Campbell Tyler Rose Award Player of the Week. He has been named to the organization’s honorable mention list twice this season (Sept. 26 and Oct. 14). Fellow Bronco Taylen Green has also garnered honorable mention honors, receiving them on Oct. 10.

The Earl Campbell Tyler Rose Award, announced in 2012 by the Tyler Chamber and SPORTyler, recognizes the top offensive player in Division I football who also exhibits the enduring characteristics that define Earl Campbell: integrity, performance, teamwork, sportsmanship, drive, community, and tenacity; specifically, tenacity to persist and determination to overcome adversity and injury in pursuit of reaching goals. In addition, the nominee must meet one or more of the following criteria: born in Texas and/or graduated from a Texas High School and/or played at a Texas-based junior college or four-year D1 Texas college. Jeanty is a product of Lone Star HS, located in Frisco, Texas.

Boise State will play UNLV in the MW Championship on Saturday, Dec. 2, in Allegiant Stadium. The game will kick off at 1 p.m. MT and air nationally on FOX.
