COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Utah State quarterback Levi Williams has been named the Mountain West Offensive Player of the Week, while Wyoming safety Wyett Ekeler has been tabbed MW Defensive Player of the Week. San Diego State kicker/punter Jack Browning earned MW Special Teams Player of the Week honors and Aztec safety Marcus Ratcliffe was selected as the MW Freshman of the Week for the third straight week.

The weekly honor is the fifth of Browning’s career, the second of Ekeler’s and the first for Ratcliffe and Williams.

OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
LEVI WILLIAMS, UTAH STATE
Junior, Quarterback, Canyon Lake, Texas / Smithson Valley HS / Wyoming

  • Accounted for 351 yards of total offense and five touchdowns in Utah State’s 44-41 double-overtime win over New Mexico on Friday, which made the Aggies bowl eligible for the third consecutive season.
  • Making the first start in his two-year Utah State career, Williams was 16-for-27 for 198 yards and two touchdowns through the air and added a career-high 25 carries for 153 yards and a career-best three TDs on the ground, two of which came in overtime.
  • His five touchdowns responsible for are tied for the most in the MW this season, while his rushing yards, rushing attempts and rushing touchdowns are the most by a MW quarterback this year.
  • Became the eighth quarterback in program history to rush for 100 yards in a game, with his 153 yards the second-most by a quarterback in school history.
  • His three rushing touchdowns tied the program record for a quarterback and his 25 carries are the most by a quarterback in program history.

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
WYETT EKELER, WYOMING
Junior, Safety, Windsor, Colo. / Windsor HS

  • Had five tackles and an interception return for a touchdown in Wyoming’s 42-6 win at Nevada.
  • Had three solo stops and 1.5 tackles for loss in helping the Cowboys hold the Wolf Pack to just 201 yards of total offense.
  • Broke five tackles on his 38-yard interception return in the second quarter, which staked Wyoming to a 21-3 lead.
  • Helped Wyoming’s defense allow a season-low 18 rushing yards.

SPECIAL TEAMS PLAYER OF THE WEEK
JACK BROWNING, SAN DIEGO STATE
Senior, Kicker/Punter, Lakeside, Calif. / West Hills HS / Grossmont College

  • Scored a career-high 15 points in San Diego State’s 33-18 win over Fresno State.
  • Tied a program record with four field goals, connecting from 32, 39, 41 and 33 yards. It marked just the 10th time in program history and the first time since 2016 that a SDSU kicker had made four field goals in a game.
  • Added three PATs as he surpassed his previous high for scoring by four points.
  • Punted three times for an average of 39.3 yards per punt.
  • Kicked off eight times for an average of 63.8 yards per kick, recording one touchback.

FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK
MARCUS RATCLIFFE, SAN DIEGO STATE
Freshman, Safety, Chula Vista, Calif. / Cathedral Catholic HS

  • Had team-best six tackles and an interception in San Diego State’s 33-18 win over Fresno State.
  • Returned his first career interception 29 yards in the first quarter, leading to an Aztec field goal.
  • Helped hold Fresno State, which entered the game ranked 24th in the FBS with 280.6 passing yards per game, to a season-low 190 on the evening.
