COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Heading into the 2023 NCAA Cross Country Championships, three Mountain West men’s and women’s programs are ranked in the NCAA Division I Cross Country polls, released Monday by the U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA).

On the men’s side, New Mexico moved up six spots and is ranked  No. 13, its highest ranking since 2014, with 175 points. Air Force moved up two spots and is No. 22 in the national poll with 107 points.

The Air Force and New Mexico men’s cross country teams qualified for the 2023 NCAA championship after earning two of the 13 at-large selections. The Lobos are making their first appearance at the NCAA championship since 2014, while the Falcons have earned an NCAA championship bid in five of the last six seasons.

On the women’s side, Colorado State is ranked No. 28 with 41 points. CSU qualified for the 2023 NCAA championship after earning a women’s at-large selection. The Rams are making their 13th appearance in program history and fourth-consecutive trip to the NCAA championship.

Additionally, New Mexico is receiving votes in the coaches poll.
