COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Mountain West cross country runners are gearing up for the postseason, starting with the 2023 MW Cross Country Championships on Friday, Oct. 27, at Eagle Island Park in Boise, Idaho.

The Colorado State women’s team enters the 2023 MW Cross Country Championship as the favorite to win the MW title. The Rams are seeking their first Conference title since 2007. New Mexico heads into the postseason having won the last 15 team titles. Additionally, the Lobos have had the MW individual winner in six of the last seven championship races.

The defending men’s champions, Air Force, has won three-straight Mountain West titles and five overall in program history. Utah State has claimed the MW individual title in two of the last four championships.

The Conference is well represented in the national rankings as four MW teams are among the top 30 of the men’s and women’s national coaches polls as the championships approach.

Heading into the MW championship, Colorado State moved up three spots in the women’s national poll to No. 25 with 75 points.

Ahead of the postseason, three Mountain West men’s programs are nationally ranked. New Mexico is ranked No. 18 with 136 points, while Boise State is No. 23 in the national poll with 94 points. Additionally, Air Force is ranked 26th with 67 points.

The men’s championship race will begin at 10:15 a.m. MT on the Mountain West Network, while the women’s race starts at 11 a.m. MT on the Mountain West Network.
