Hofschild was also named at the Mountain West’s Preseason Player of the Year

FORT COLLINS – McKenna Hofschild continues to rack up recognition ahead of the 2023-24 season as the Mountain West’s Preseason Player of the Year was one of 20 point guards named to the Nancy Lieberman Award Watch List, the Basketball Hall of Fame and WBCA announced on Monday.

A finalist for the award last season, a season in which she was named the Mountain West’s Player of the Year, Hofschild is the only player from the Mountain West on the watch list and one of only two players (Gonzaga’s Kaylynne Truong) to make the watch list from outside a traditional Power 5 league.

Last season, the 5-foot-2 Hofschild was named an Associated Press All-American after averaging 20.6 points and 7.2 assists per game on 48.8 percent shooting.
