COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The 2023 NCAA tournament runner-up San Diego State has been predicted to win the 2023-24 Mountain West regular-season title as voted on by select media and announced Thursday morning ahead of the Conference’s media day.

The Aztecs received 25 first-place votes and earned 333 points in the 2023-24 MW Men’s Basketball Predicted Order of Finish. SDSU returns four letterwinners from last year’s squad, including two starters Lamont Butler and Darrion Trammell. Joining head coach Brian Dutcher and the Aztecs in 2023-24 are seven newcomers, headlined by MW Preseason Newcomer of the Year Reese Waters.

Boise State was picked second in the preseason poll with 299 points and four first-place votes, New Mexico was selected third with 278 points and a first-place vote. Nevada was picked fourth with 240 points and the remaining first-place vote.

Colorado State was chosen to finish fifth with 218 points, UNLV sixth with 199 points, San José State seventh with 124 points and Fresno State eighth with 115 points. Utah State is ninth with 105 points, Wyoming 10th with 74 points and Air Force is 11th with 61 points.
