COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Colorado State Women’s and Air Force Men’s Cross Country teams were named preseason favorites to win the 2023 Mountain West titles, as voted on by the league’s head coaches.
The Rams received 97 points and seven first-place votes, while the Falcons garnered 63 points and seven first-place votes.
On the women’s side, New Mexico was picked to finish second after earning 88 points and three first-place votes. Colorado State was selected second in the men’s poll after receiving two first-place votes and 56 points.
Rounding out the cross country poll on the women’s side Utah State was selected third with 83 points and the final first-place vote. Boise State in fourth (72 points), Wyoming in fifth (63 points), Air Force in sixth (62 points) and Nevada in seventh (45 points). Following the Wolf Pack is Fresno State in eighth (29 points), San Diego State in ninth (27 points), UNLV in 10th (26 points) followed by San José State in 11th (13 points).
On the men’s side, Utah State finished third (47 points), while Boise State was picked fourth (44 points). The Broncos were followed by Wyoming in fifth (37 points). New Mexico was selected sixth (31 points), Nevada in seventh (23 points), San José State in eighth (12 points) and Fresno State in ninth (11 points).
