COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The Mountain West announced the 2023 Indoor Track & Field All-Conference team, which is composed of the top three finishers in each individual event and the top three relay teams in each event at the MW championships.
Air Force claimed the 2022 Mountain West Men’s Indoor Track & Field Championship, while Colorado State won the MW Women’s Indoor Track & Field Championship.
This marks the fifth MW men’s championship and second in a row for Air Force after earning 208 points, the most points scored since BYU scored 224 in 2009. To go along with the team title, Air Force won five individual MW titles.
Colorado State won its sixth MW women’s championship and second in a row after tallying 125.5 points. The Rams won three individual MW titles.
Air Force’s Ryan Cole was named the MW Men’s Coach of the Year for the first time at the MW indoor championships, while Colorado State’s Brian Bedard was named the MW Women’s Coach of the year for the fourth time in CSU history.
San José State’s Emilia Sjostrand was named the MW Women’s Performer of the Meet award after winning gold medals in the long jump and triple jump. The MW Men’s Performer of the Meet award went to Air Force’s Sam Gilman, who led his team to victory with a win in the mile.
