COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – San Diego State sophomore Mai McKenna has been tabbed the Mountain West Swimmer of the Week, while senior teammate Ximena Lechuga Gonzalez has been named MW Diver of the week. The MW Freshman of the Week honor goes to Colorado State’s Lexie Trietley. 
 
This is the first career weekly honor for McKenna, 10th for Gonzalez, and fourth for Trietley. 
 
SWIMMER OF THE WEEK
MAI MCKENNA, SAN DEIGO STATE
Sophomore, San Jose, California/ Valley Christian HS

  • Helped the Aztecs secure their 46th consecutive dual-meet win against the University of San Diego (126-115). 
  • Posted three Aztec Aquaplex pool records as well as collegiate bests. 
  • Won the 100-meter backstroke with time of 53.92.
  • Secured a first-place finish in the 200-meter back with a time of 1:58.32.
  • Registered the fastest time in the 200-meter individual medley with a time of 2:00.30

DIVER OF THE WEEK
XIMENA LECHUGA GONZALEZ, SAN DIEGO STATE
Senior, Tijuana, Mexico/ ITESM

  • Posted three top finishes, leading the Aztecs at the CBU Lancer Diving Invitational. 
  • Won the 1-meter springboard with a score of 276.90, eclipsing the NCAA Zone qualifying barrier.
  • Finished third in the 3-meter springboard with 270.53 points. 
  • Posted a season-best 235.50 points from the platform, surpassing the NCAA Zone qualifying barrier, placing third. 

FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK
LEXIE TRIETLEY, COLORADO STATE
Olean, New York/ Olean HS

  • Helped the Rams remain unbeaten on the year and for the last 22 meets as the Rams tied (150-all) with Northern Arizona and beat North Texas (228-72).
  • Won the 50-meter freestyle with a time of 23.15. 
  • Took first in the 100-meter free with a winning time of 51.28. 
  • Has not lost a single collegiate 100-meter free this season. 
  • Anchored the winning 400-meter free relay.
