COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – After a dominant performance at the 2022 Mountain West Tennis Championship, San Diego State (17-6, 6-2 MW) will make its 23rd appearance in the NCAA Women’s Tennis Tournament against USC on May 6 at 10 a.m. PT in Malibu, Calif.

The trip to the NCAA tournament will be the Aztecs’ first since the 2013 campaign.

San Diego State earned the MW’s automatic bid after claiming its first Conference Tournament title since 2003, with a 4-1 win over UNLV on April 30.

USC enters the first-round match 17-11 overall and 7-3 in the Pac 12.

An Aztec victory would be the program’s first regional win since 2000 (SDSU 5, USF 0) and the Conference’s first since UNLV downed Texas Tech 4-3 in 2019. TCU (2006) is the only school in MW history to win more than two matches in the NCAA tournament.

The winner of San Diego State and USC will face the No. 8 Pepperdine and Denver winner. The 16 regional winners advance to the Khan Outdoor Tennis Complex in Champaign, Illinois, where teams will compete for the national championship.

All NCAA Tournament matches will be broadcast via the TennisONE App.
