COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – UNLV junior infielder Marco Rosales has been named the Mountain West Baseball Player of the Week, while New Mexico junior Ryan Castillo has been selected the MW Baseball Pitcher of the Week. Washington State outfielder Matt Priest collected the MW Baseball Freshman of the Week honor for the second week in a row.

  • Led UNLV to a 2-2 record last week, including a series victory over San José State.
  • Batted .556 with 10 hits, including three homers, 15 RBIs and nine runs scored.
  • Posted an on-base percentage of .619 and a slugging percentage of 1.111.

PITCHER OF THE WEEK

RYAN CASTILLO, NEW MEXICO

Junior, Los Lunas, New Mexico/Los Lunas HS

  • Tossed six shutout innings in New Mexico’s 5-2 victory over Fresno State.
  • Limited the Bulldogs to four hits and three walks.
  • Struck out five batters.

FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK

MATT PRIEST, WASHINGTON STATE

Outfielder, San Diego, California/USC

  • Made four starts in left field for the Cougars during a midweek matchup with Gonzaga and Conference series against Nevada.
  • Hit .563 with nine base knocks, including two home runs, 10 RBIs and four runs scored.
  • Recorded multi-hit efforts in three of his four outings last week.
