COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Opening day of the 2026 Major League Baseball Season has arrived. The Mountain West boasts 21 players from current Mountain West institutions on 17 different 40-man MLB rosters.

Fresno State and UNLV lead the way in the clubhouse with four players each on 40-man rosters, while New Mexico and San Diego State are just behind with three players each. Air Force, Grand Canyon and Nevada each have two, while Washington State has one player on MLB rosters to start the season.
