COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The Mountain West announced today the hire of Dennis Trapani as assistant commissioner of broadcast production.
He officially joins the staff Wednesday, April 1.
In his new role, Trapani will be tasked with leading the technical execution, production support and distribution of live and on-demand content for the Mountain West Network (MWN). He will also support technical aspects of the new football replay center in the MW office in Las Vegas.
Trapani comes to the Mountain West from the University of Wyoming where he was the associate athletics director of broadcast and video production. There, he supervised more than 70 live broadcasts each year, including streaming on the MWN and on linear television, as well as helping produce over 650 pieces of on-demand video content.
During his time at Wyoming, Trapani has been a contractor for numerous Mountain West championships and media days, including producer and director for halftime and postgame MWN shows during the basketball championships and live shows at basketball and football media days.
He got his start in college athletics in 2007 as a coordinator of multimedia and broadcasting with Army Athletics Association before becoming the associate director of multimedia operations with the athletics department at the College of Charleston. Trapani made the move to Laramie in 2013, where he has spent the last 12 years.
A native of Erie, Pennsylvania, Trapani earned a bachelor’s degree in communication arts at Gannon University in May 2007.
