USTFCCCA Women – Team, Individual | USTFCCCA Men – Team, Individual

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – A combined 15 Mountain West men’s and women’s cross country teams and 12 individuals earned All-Academic honors for the 2025 NCAA Division I Cross Country season, announced on Thursday by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA).

In order to qualify for All-Academic distinction, teams must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale, including the most recent grading period. In order to qualify for All-Academic distinction, student-athletes must have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.25 on a 4.0 scale and finish in the top-25 (or 10 percent) at the NCAA Regional Championships or as an All-American at the NCAA Championships.

New Mexico junior Habtom Samuel earned the organization’s highest academic honor as he was selected as the USTFCCCA Cross Country Scholar-Athlete of the Year. Samuel won the 2025 NCAA Cross Country title while posting a 3.33 GPA during the fall semester in Liberal Arts & Integrative Studies.

Overall, the Mountain West saw eight women’s programs receive the team award, while there were seven men’s programs that earned the distinction.

Individually, eight representing three institutions were honored on the women’s side and four, including Samuel, from two institutions were named to the list from the men’s side. The full list of team and individual honorees is below:
