Colorado Springs, Colo. – New Mexico sophomore Matthew Endrödy has been named the Mountain West Men’s Track Athlete of the Week, while Wyoming senior Cam Burkett was been tabbed the MW Men’s Field Athlete of the Week. Colorado State’s Owen Langdon earned MW Men’s Freshman of the Week honors.
Grand Canyon senior Taliyah Booker picked up the MW Women’s Track Athlete of the Week award and San Diego State senior Xiamara Young was named the MW Women’s Field Athlete of the Week. Boise State’s Priscilla Adu-Gyamfi was named the MW Women’s Freshman of the Week.
MEN’S TRACK ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
MATTHEW ENDRÖDY, NEW MEXICO
Sophomore, Johannesburg, South Africa/Afrikaanse Hoër Seunskool
- Took first in the mile at the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Invitational in Albuquerque, New Mexico, with a time of 3:58.85.
- The altitude-adjusted time of 3:53.65 is top in the Mountain West and ranks No. 3 in the nation.
- Improved his personal-best time in the event by over 13 seconds and broke the four-minute barrier for the first time in his career.
MEN’S FIELD ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
CAM BURKETT, WYOMING
Senior, Casper, Wyoming/Kelly Walsh HS
- Won the shot put at the Bobcat Challenge in Bozeman, Montana, matching his season-best mark of 19.05 meters (62-6.0).
- The mark set a facility record, is second-best in the Mountain West this season and ranks No. 12 in the nation.
MEN’S FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK
OWEN LANGDON, COLORADO STATE
Austin, Texas/James Bowie HS
- Took first in the 60-meter hurdles at the Colorado Invitational in Boulder, Colorado, clocking a personal-best time of 7.72.
- The altitude-adjusted time of 7.74 is second-best in Ram history, fourth-best among freshmen nationally and is tied for 21st in the NCAA.
WOMEN’S TRACK ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
TALIYAH BOOKER, GRAND CANYON
Senior, Yonkers, New York/Purdue
- Won the 400-meter race (53.29) and helped the 4×400-meter relay team (3:35.24) to a first-place finish at the Dr. Martin Luther King Invitational.
- Her 400-meter time broke a program record, while the altitude-adjusted time of 53.40 is second in the Mountain West and tied for 22nd in the nation.
- The 4×400 relay altitude-adjusted time of 3:35.68 is also a school record, is tied for 16th in the NCAA and is the fourth-best time in Mountain West history.
WOMEN’S FIELD ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
XIAMARA YOUNG, SAN DIEGO STATE
Senior, Las Vegas, Nevada/Fresno Pacific
- Won the triple jump and took second in the long jump at the Dr. Martin Luther King Invitational.
- Her winning triple jump mark of 13.18 meters (43-3.0) is best in the Mountain West, ranks 10th in the NCAA and is the sixth-best mark in program history.
- Her long jump mark of 6.34 meters (20-9.75) is first in the Conference, tied for 14th in the nation and is the third-best indoor long jump Aztec history.

- Recorded a pair of third-place finishes in the 400-meter race and the 4×400-meter relay (3:52.84).
- Her 400m time of 55.76 is the sixth-fastest in the MW this season and the top time by a freshman.
