COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Grand Canyon’s Julianna LaMendola was named the Old Trapper Mountain West Women’s Basketball Player of the Week, while teammate Ines Zounia was tabbed the Old Trapper MW Freshman of the Week.

This is the second weekly honor for Zounia and first for LaMendola during the 2025-26 season.

WOMEN’S BASKETBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK
JULIANNA LAMENDOLA, GRAND CANYON
Junior, Guard, Coppell, Texas/Indiana

  • Led Grand Canyon to a pair of victories against Nevada (65-51) and at New Mexico (75-62).
  • Averaged a double-double on the week with 15.5 points and 10 rebounds per game, while shooting 52.6 percent from the floor.
  • Against the Wolf Pack, recorded 17 points, six boards and one assist.
  • At New Mexico, tallied a double-double with 14 points and 14 rebounds. Also added four assists and one block for the Lopes.


WOMEN’S BASKETBALL FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK
INES ZOUNIA, GRAND CANYON
Guard, Lille, France/Lycée Voltaire

  • En route to a 2-0 week, the France native, averaged 14 points, four rebounds, 1.5 blocks and one assist per game. Also shot 64.7 percent from the floor, 66.7 percent from beyond the arc and 66.7 from the charity stripe.
  • Against Nevada, logged 17 points, four rebounds, one assist and one block.
  • While at the Pit against New Mexico, registered 11 points, four boards, two blocks, one assist and one steal.
