ATLANTA, Ga. – With the 301st overall pick in the 2025 MLB Draft, the Chicago Cubs have selected Fresno State catcher Justin Stransky.
Stransky is the fourth Diamond ‘Dog to be selected in the 2025 MLB Draft, joining Jack Anker and Murf Gray, who were both selected by the Pittsburgh Pirates, and Aidan Cremarosa, drafted by the Tampa Bay Rays. He is the 13th Bulldog to be selected by the Cubs organization all-time in the draft.
The backstop was named a Buster Posey National Collegiate Catcher of the Year Semifinalist and an ABCA/Rawlings All-Region selection. In addition, he earned All-Mountain West First team honors.
With two seasons under his belt with the Bulldogs, Stransky owned a .312 batting average in his Fresno State career, totaling 68 RBIs, 73 runs, 109 hits and 15 home runs.
