COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Nevada sophomore Scarlett Ferris has been tabbed the Mountain West Swimmer of the Week, while teammates Bailey Heydra and Keira-Lee Allott were selected as the MW Diver of the Week and the MW Freshman of the Week, respectively.
SWIMMER OF THE WEEK
SCARLETT FERRIS, NEVADA
Sophomore, Fife, Scotland/Bell Baxter HS
- Placed first in all events in which she participated.
- Placed first in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 22.65, which ranks third in the Conference and breaks a 25-year-old school record.
- Placed first in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 52.50, qualifying for a NCAA women’s provisional standard.
- Swam a leg of the victorious 200-yard medley relay that turned in a time of 1:39.99.
DIVER OF THE WEEK
BAILEY HEYDRA, NEVADA
Junior, Johannesburg, South Africa, St. Stithians
- Helped the Wolf Pack win in a dual meet against conference opponent UNLV.
- In the 1-meter springboard, recorded a score of 306.00, surpassing the NCAA Diving Zone standard.
- In the 3-meter springboard, logged a score of 352.88, surpassing the NCAA Diving Zone standard.
FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK
KEIRA-LEE ALLOTT, NEVADA
Swimmer, Tauranga, New Zealand
- Placed second in the 500-yard free with a time of 4:57.42.
- Swam a leg of the 400-yard free relay that placed third with a time of 3:29.29.
