COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The Mountain West announced its first batch of weekly award winners of the 2025 season, as all four teams within the league opened competition. The awards represent an even cross section as gymnasts from all four teams were recognized with weekly honors.

ALL-AROUNDER OF THE WEEK
MAGGIE SLIFE, AIR FORCE
So., Oconomowoc, Wisconsin / Arrowhead HS

  • Opened her sophomore campaign with a league-best 39.175 in the all-around in the Air Force Academy’s season-opening victory over LIU.
  • Recorded a 9.725 on vault, 9.825 on bars, 9.775 on beam and 9.850 on floor.
  • Won individual titles on bars, floor and in the all-around.

CO-VAULT SPECIALIST OF THE WEEK
ALYSSA BIGLER, AIR FORCE
Fr., Phoenix, Ariz. / Sandra Day O’Connor HS

  • Scored a league-best 9.825 on vault in her collegiate debut.
  • Helped Air Force to a season-opening win over LIU.

  • Logged a league-best 9.825 on vault in the Aggies’ 2025 home opener against Southern Utah.

BARS SPECIALIST OF THE WEEK

  • Scored a league-best 9.900 on bars against Southern Utah.

BEAM SPECIALIST OF THE WEEK

  • Scored a Conference-best 9.875 on beam against Southern Utah.

FLOOR SPECIALIST OF THE WEEK
EMMA LOYIM, BOISE STATE
Sr., Mountain Lakes, N.J. / Mountain Lakes HS

  • Scored a league-best 9.875 on floor in Boise State’s season opener at Washington.
  • Helped the Broncos finish second at the meet with an overall team score of 195.050, besting Washington (194.800) and UC Davis (193.375) and trailing only Stanford (195.600).

FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK
MADISON GUSTITUS, SAN JOSÉ STATE
Fr., Chicago, Ill. / Neuqua Valley HS

  • Scored a 9.850 on beam to secure the individual title on the event in the Spartans’ season opener at Sacramento State.
  • Had the highest score of any MW freshman on any event on the week.

Gymnastics competition continues in the MW this week with three teams in action on the road on Friday, Jan. 17. San José State will travel to Oregon State, with Air Force at Arizona and Boise State at Georgia.

The 2025 regular season will culminate at the Credit Union 1 MW Gymnastics Championship, slated to be hosted by San José State on Saturday, March 22.
