AROUND THE MOUNTAIN WEST
• Three MW teams are ranked in the top-100 of the NET: UNLV, 51, San Diego State, 88 and Colorado State, 93.
• With Colorado State’s win over Georgia on Friday, Mountain West teams have combined to have at least one win against the ACC, Big East, Big 12, Big Ten and SEC this season. It is the first time since 2009-10 that the MW has at least one win over teams from each of those five conferences.
• Air Force has had at least 12 steals in nine difference games this season with only Longwood (11) having more amongst DI teams this season. The Falcons’ 156 steals are the sixth most through 12 games of a season by a team in MW history.
• Over her last four games, San Diego State’s Naomi Panganiban is averaging 21.5 points per game despite not starting any of them. Panganiban is the first player in MW history to average 20+ points over a four-game span while coming off the bench in each of those four games.
• San Diego State’s Cali Clark is one of six DI players to have at least 20 steals and 20 blocks this season.
• Colorado State’s Emma Ronsiek was named an Ann Meyers Drysdale National Player of the Week by the USBWA on Tuesday, Dec. 10.
• Colorado State’s Emma Ronsiek is one of 20 student-athletes named to the Katrina McClain Power Forward of the Year watch list.
• Wyoming’s Allyson Fertig is one of 20 student-athletes named to the Lisa Leslie Center of the Year watch list.
• Colorado State’s Emma Ronsiek and Wyoming’s Allyson Fertig represent the Mountain West on the Becky Hammon Mid-Major Player of the Year watch list.
• Colorado State’s Emma Ronsiek, Utah State’s Cheyenne Stubbs and Wyoming’s Allyson Fertig represent the Mountain West on the World Exposure Top-50 Mid-Major women’s basketball players to watch in 2024-25.
• UNLV head coach Lindy La Rocque has been named to the Kathy Delaney-Smith Coach of the Year Award watch list.
• Three-time defending regular-season and Conference tournament champion UNLV looks to extend its reign for a fourth consecutive year. The three consecutive regular-season and tournament titles are a first in Conference history.
• Her Hoop Stats Preseason Bracketology revealed the MW to have the potential to be a two-bid league with UNLV securing a 12 seed while Colorado State is predicted to be in the play-in round for the shot at a 12 seed slot.
