BOISE, Idaho – Boise State junior Ashton Jeanty has been named one of 16 semifinalists for the Earl Campbell Tyler Rose Award. SPORTyler announced. The award is presented annually to the country’s top offensive player who is a native of Texas or graduated from a Texas high school. Jeanty is a product of Lone Star HS, located in Frisco, Texas.
Jeanty has produced prolific numbers this season, leading the nation in rushing yards (2,062) and touchdowns (25), He is the fourth player since 1956 to eclipse 2,000 yards and 25 touchdowns in 11 games. His 1,512 yards after contact are more than the total rushing number of any FBS player. It is a College Football Playoff-era record, as is his mark of 118 missed tackles forced.
Jeanty has 125+ rushing yards in all 11 games, tying Iowa State’s Troy Davis for the longest streak in a season since 1996. He has six three-touchdown efforts, tied for third in the FBS since 1996. The junior leads the country in 50+ yard touchdowns (9) and 60+ yard touchdowns (7). He has more rushes of 20+ yards (21) than rushes for loss (19).
The Bronco captain has set Boise State single-season records for rushing yards (2,062), 200-yard games (4) and 100-yard games (11). His per game averages of 196.7 all-purpose yards and 187.5 rushing yards are currently school records, as is his average of 7.50 yards per carry.
The five finalists for the Earl Campbell Tyler Rose Award will be announced on Dec. 17. The winner will be recognized at a banquet on Jan. 22, 2025. Jeanty was a finalist for the award last season. He was named Earl Campbell Tyler Rose National Player of the Week on Sept. 4 and has earned honorable mention from the organization six times this season.
This is the latest of several national recognitions for the standout tailback. Jeanty is a finalist for the Doak Walker Award, Maxwell Award and Walter Camp Award. He was a unanimous midseason All-America pick and earned national player of the week accolades from various organizations.
No. 11 Boise State (10-1, 7-0 MW) closes the regular season on The Blue with a 10 a.m. game against Oregon State (5-6) on Friday, Nov. 29. It will be televised nationally on FOX.
