BOISE, Idaho – Boise State secured the highest College Football Playoff ranking in program history when it was elevated to No. 11 this week. The Broncos were once again the highest-ranked Group of 5 team and fourth-highest conference leader.
The Broncos rank third in the nation in scoring offense (41.2 ppg) and fifth in total offense (479.5 ypg) and rushing offense (252.0). They are seventh in the FBS in 3rd down conversions (49.6%) and 10th in red zone offense (92.3%). The Boise State defense has 43 sacks, second-most in the country, and 87 tackles for loss, ranking eighth in the nation. Boise State is one of 17 teams in the FBS with at least twice as many takeaways (14) as turnovers (7).
This will be the first year of the expanded College Football Playoff, with 12 teams garnering inclusion. The 12 teams will be the five highest-ranked conference champions followed by the next seven highest-ranked teams. The four highest-ranked conference champions will receive a first-round bye.
The Broncos were also tabbed No. 11 in this week’s Associated Press Top 25 and US LBM Coaches Poll. This is the highest Boise State has been ranked in both polls since the end of the 2011 season, when it was selected No. 6 in the final Coaches Poll and No. 8 in the final AP Poll.
Boise State (10-1, 7-0 MW) closes the regular season on The Blue with a 10 a.m. game against Oregon State (5-6) on Friday, Nov. 29. It will be televised nationally on FOX.

Boise State will host the 2024 Old Trapper Mountain West Championship, which will be played at 6 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 6.
