BOISE, Idaho – Boise State climbed to No. 12 in the latest edition of the College Football Playoff rankings. The Broncos were the fourth-highest ranked conference leader. They remain the highest-ranked Group of 5 team. The other G5 teams ranked this week are No. 19 Army West Point, No. 20 Tulane and No. 24 UNLV.

The Broncos boast the nation’s third-best rushing offense (258.7 ypg) and scoring offense (43.6 ppg) while also ranking third in third down conversion percentage (52.7) and fourth down percentage (.800). They rank fourth in total offense (492.2 ypg) and have seven turnovers, tied for eighth-fewest in the FBS.

Defensively, Boise State has recorded 41 sacks, ranking second in the country, and 80 tackles for loss, tied for sixth nationally. The unit has 14 takeaways, including nine in the last four games. The Broncos are one of 19 teams in the country with at least twice as many takeaways as turnovers.

This will be the first year of the expanded College Football Playoff, with 12 teams garnering inclusion. The 12 teams will be the five highest-ranked conference champions followed by the next seven highest-ranked teams. The four highest-ranked conference champions will receive a first-round bye.

Boise State (9-1, 6-0 MW) will travel to Wyoming (2-8, 2-4 MW) for the final conference game of the regular season. The Broncos and Cowboys will kick off at 5 p.m. MT on Nov. 23. The game will air nationally on CBS Sports Network.
