BOSTON – Tyson Degenhart was named to the 2024-25 Lute Olson Award Early Season Watch List, the organization announced on Tuesday.

The Bronco is the only athlete in the Mountain West to earn the honor this season.

This marks Degenhart’s fourth national award preseason watch list with the others being the Naismith Award Men’s College Player of the Year, the Julius Erving Small Forward of the Year and the Wooden Award Men’s Player of the Year.

In addition, Degenhart was selected as the 2024-25 MW Preseason Player of the Year and to the All-MW Preseason Team in mid-October.

The senior was most recently named the MW Player of the Week on Nov. 17 after helping Boise State take down Clemson 84-71 at home with a double-double performance. He scored a team-high 20 points and grabbed 11 rebounds.

In the victories over Corban and Clemson last week, the forward averaged 15.5 points, 6.5 rebounds and 2.0 assists while shooting 78.6% (11-of-14) from the field and 88.9% (8-of-9) from the free throw line.

Degenhart has already etched his name as one of the best in Boise State history, being the one player in program history to start in three-straight NCAA Tournament games. The forward is a two-time All-MW first team selection, as well as a College Sports Communicators Academic All-America First Team honoree.

The recipient of the Lute Olson National Player of the Year is determined by a 10 member voting committee, consisting of current and former head coaches, as well as two senior staff members of collegeinsider.com. The award will be announced in San Antonio, Texas at the NCAA Tournament championship.

Boise State is off to a 3-1 start to open this season and will return to action with the Cayman Islands Classic starting on Sunday. The Broncos face Hampton to open the tournament on Sunday (9 a.m. MT) before playing the winner of South Dakota State and Duquesne on Nov. 25.
