OMAHA, Neb. – University of Hawai’i return specialist Tylan Hines is among 15 players – and only Mountain West player – named to the Jet Award Midseason Watch List. Now in its 14th year, the award celebrates the “electrifying talents of players who excel on punt and kickoff returns.”

Hines, UH’s returner for both punts and kickoffs, is sixth nationally and first in the Mountain West with 344 combined return yards (223 kickoff, 121 punt). The Mt. Pleasant, Texas native has one punt return touchdown, which he recorded in UH’s season-opening win over Delaware State that marked the first by the Rainbow Warrior in 12 years.

The award is named in honor of Johnny “The Jet” Rodgers, who won the 1972 Heisman Trophy and was named to the College Football Hall of Fame. The winner will be presented at the Jet Award Gala, April 10, 2025

Mike Edwards was a finalist for the award in 2012.
