COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Boise State’s Emily Jobes has been named the Mountain West Women’s Cross Country Athlete of the Week and teammate Brian Kiprotich was selected as the MW Men’s Cross Country Athlete of the Week. Luke Stockett of Utah State was tabbed the Men’s Freshman of the Week. There is no selection for the women’s freshman honor this week.

WOMEN’S ATHLETE OF THE WEEK

EMILY JOBES, BOISE STATE

Senior, Bethlehem, Pennsylvania/Liberty High School/Pittsburgh

  • Finished third in the 6k at the Cougar Classic with a time of 20:18.9, her second straight top-five finish.
  • Top Bronco finisher for the second consecutive race.
  • Helped lead the Boise State women to a second-place finish overall, 10 points shy of No. 25 Gonzaga.

MEN’S ATHLETE OF THE WEEK

BRIAN KIPROTICH, BOISE STATE

Sophomore, Kapcherop, Kenya/Chewoyet High School

  • Took second overall in the 8k at the Cougar Classic (23:37.8), racing in just his second collegiate event.
  • Second straight race as Boise State’s top finisher.
  • Led the Broncos to first-place team finish over nationally ranked Gonzaga.

MEN’S FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK

LUKE STOCKETT, UTAH STATE

Nampa, Idaho/Victory Charter School

  • Posted a career-best four-mile time of 20:35.89 to finish 21st in the event at the BYU Autumn Classic.
  • Helped the Aggies to a fourth-place team finish behind No. 2 BYU.
