COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Wyoming’s Kylie Simshauser has been named the Mountain West Women’s Cross Country Athlete of the Week and teammate Jacob White was selected as the MW Men’s Cross Country Athlete of the Week. Allison Pippert of Colorado State and Utah State’s Jedidiah Megargel were tabbed the MW Freshmen of the Week.

WOMEN’S ATHLETE OF THE WEEK

KYLIE SIMSHAUSER, WYOMING

Senior, Florence, Colorado/Florence HS

  • Won the Wyoming Invite with a school-record time of 17:14 in the 5k race.
  • The time was also a course record at Little America Gold Course and was a personal-best time in the event by over 34 seconds.
  • Finished 27 seconds ahead of second place in a field that featured No. 26 nationally ranked Colorado and Colorado State, who also received votes in the national poll.

WOMEN’S FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK

ALLISON PIPPERT, COLORADO STATE

Thornton, Colorado/Stargate HS

  • Finished fifth overall in her collegiate debut with a time of 17:52.1.
  • Was a part of a group of Rams that finished 2nd through 6th to help the women’s squad win the meet.

MEN’S ATHLETE OF THE WEEK

JACOB WHITE, WYOMING

Junior, Littleton, Colorado/Dakota Ridge High School

  • Placed first at the Wyoming Invite, recording an 5k time of 14:46.8, coming up 0.5 seconds of his personal-best time in the event.
  • Led Wyoming to a first-place team finish over No. 20 nationally ranked Colorado.

MEN’S FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK

JEDIDIAH MEGARGEL, UTAH STATE

Eagle Mountain, Utah/Westlake HS

  • Posted a top-10 finish in first collegiate race at the Utah State Alumni Challenge, taking seventh in the 7k with a time of 21:05.29.
  • Helped the Aggies to a second-place team finish behind No. 2 BYU.
