Versatility pays off, especially when it comes with excellence on all fronts.

Four members of the Colorado State women’s swimming and diving program earned second-team academic All-American honors from the College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America due to their outstanding work in the classroom and stalwart efforts in their events this past season. To be recognized, a student-athlete must maintain at minimum a 3.50 GPA during the competition season and reach at least an NCAA ‘B’ standard in the lanes or a zones cut on the boards.

Diver Maggie Di Scipio and swimmers Sydney VanOvermeiren., Tess Whineray and Maya White reached both thresholds, with all four of them earning All-Mountain West honors.

Di Scipio, a sophomore, had a breakout season, earning the first zones cuts of her career on the 1- and 3-meter springboards while breaking into Colorado State’s top 10 on all three boards. VanOvermeiren, a graduate student, hit the NCAA B standard in the 400-yard individual medley; Tess Whineray, a freshman, posted B cuts in both the 100 and 200 backstrokes; while White hit the B standard in the 1,650 freestyle.
