COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Four Mountain West schools finished among the top 100 nationally in the final 2023-24 Learfield Directors’ Cup standings, while the league’s average score was seventh overall among the 32 NCAA Division I conferences and the sixth-best in the FBS.

Air Force paced the MW with a 76th-place finish in the standings. The Falcons totaled 304 points for the 2023-24 academic year. San José State finished 85th nationally with 256 points, followed by New Mexico in 88th with 217 points and Colorado State at No. 91 with 211 points. The Conference’s four top-100 schools are the sixth-most in the FBS.

Mountain West schools combined for an average score of 131 to finish behind only the SEC, Pac-12, Big Ten, ACC, Big 12 and Ivy League, in that order.

Overall, 19 sports are counted in the final DI standings, four of which must be women’s volleyball and basketball and men’s basketball and baseball. The next highest (15 maximum) sports scored for each institution, regardless of gender, are used in the standings.
