BOISE, Idaho – Former Bronco Shauna Heffernan has been selected to represent Ireland at the 2024 Billie Jean King Cup in Chisinau, Moldova, June 17-22.

This marks her third time being picked for Ireland’s national team for the event, the first being in 2021.

Heffernan is 5-2 all-time in doubles at the Billie Jean King Cup. In her last appearance at the Billie Jean King Cup in 2022, Heffernan and partner Kate Gardiner defeated a pair from Iceland 6-4, 6-2, in the Europe/Africa III Pool A to advance to the Promotional Play-Off. There, the Irish duo lost to a pair from Portugal 6-0, 6-0.

Heffernan and her teammates will look to gain promotion into Europe Group II, however only one group from the 11 competing will advance. Ireland is up against Albania, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Cyprus, Finland, Iceland, Luxembourg, Moldova, Montenegro and San Marino.
