COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Utah State graduate guard Darius Brown II has been named the Mountain West Men’s Basketball Player of the Week, while Utah State guard Mason Falslev was tabbed the MW Freshman of the Week.

DARIUS BROWN II, UTAH STATE

Graduate, Guard, Pasadena, California/Montana State

  • Led Utah State to a 2-0 record with wins against San José State (90-70) and New Mexico (87-85) to clinch the Aggies’ first outright MW title in program history.
  • Averaged 20 points, nine assists and 5.5 rebounds, while shooting 66.7 percent from the field. Also connected on 60 percent of attempts from beyond the arc.
  • Against the Bulldogs, recorded 21 points, nine assists and five boards.
  • Recorded 19 points, nine assists and six rebounds against the Lobos.
  • Made the game-winning shot against New Mexico in the final seconds of the game.

MASON FALSLEV, UTAH STATE

Guard, Benson, Utah/Sky View HS

  • Helped Utah State to a 2-0 record with wins against San José State (90-70) and New Mexico (87-85) to clinch the first outright MW title in program history.
  • Averaged 15 points, 4.5 rebounds and 2.5 assists, while shooting 81.3 percent from the field.
  • Posted 20 points, six boards and three assists against the Spartans.
  • Recorded 10 points against the Lobos, connecting on 5-of-5 shots from the floor. Also tallied three rebounds and two assists.
