COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – All 11 full-time Mountain West institutions are ready to dance in the 2024 MW Women’s Basketball Championship as the bracket was finalized on the final day of the regular season.
UNLV clinched the No. 1 seed and regular-season title after the Lady Rebels won at Nevada, 98-67 on Feb. 24. This is the third consecutive season that the Lady Rebels have earned the title. The New Mexico Lobos solidified the No. 2 seed with a win at Fresno State, 72-58, to end the regular season. Wyoming earned the No. 3 seed with an 11-7 Conference record, while Nevada takes the No. 4 seed and the Colorado State Rams are the No. 5 seed. The top five seeds earn a first-round bye and will begin play on Monday, March 11.
Boise State is the No. 6 seed, San Diego State the No. 7 seed, the Air Force Falcons are the No. 8 seed. Fresno State, San José State and Utah State round out the bracket, respectively.
The championship is scheduled to begin on Sunday, March 10, with the tipoff scheduled for 2 p.m. PT as No. 8 Air Force squares off with No. 9 Fresno State. In the second game of the day, No. 7 San Diego State takes on No. 10 San José State at 4:30 p.m. PT and No. 6 Boise State meets. No. 11 Utah State at 7 p.m. PT.
In the quarterfinal round, No. 1 UNLV will start the day at Noon PT, facing the winner of Air Force and Fresno State. No. 4 Nevada will take on No. 5 Colorado State at 2:30 p.m. PT, while No. 2 New Mexico will face the winner of San Diego State and San José State at 5 p.m. PT. To close out the second day of the championship, Wyoming will take on the winner of Boise State and Utah State at 7:30 p.m. PT.
Every game through the semifinal round of the MW Women’s Basketball Championship will be streamed live on the Mountain West Network and Mountain West App. The championship game on Wednesday, March 13 at 7:30 p.m. PT, will be on CBS Sports Network.
