COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Nevada graduate guard Jarod Lucas has been named the Mountain West Men’s Basketball Player of the Week, while New Mexico forward JT Toppin was tabbed the MW Freshman of the Week.

This is the second weekly honor of the season for Lucas and ninth freshman of the week nod for Toppin.

MEN’S BASKETBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK

JAROD LUCAS, NEVADA

Graduate, Guard, Hacienda Heights, California/Oregon State

  • Led Nevada to a 2-0 record with wins at Colorado State (77-74) and over Fresno State (74-66).
  • Averaged 22 points and 4.5 rebounds, while shooting 54.5 percent from beyond the arc. Also connected on 80 percent of attempts from the charity stripe.
  • Against the Rams, recorded 23 points, seven rebounds and three assists.
  • Made the game-winning shot against Colorado State from half court as time expired.
  • Registered 21 points behind a 7-of-12 effort from the field against the Bulldogs. Also tallied two boards and two assists.

MEN’S BASKETBALL FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK

JT TOPPIN, NEW MEXICO

Forward, Dallas, Texas/Faith Family Academy of Oak Cliff

  • Recorded 21 points and eight rebounds in the loss at Boise State (89-79).
  • Shot 75 percent (9-of-12) from the floor.
  • Also contributed three blocks and two steals.
