COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – UNLV junior Kiara Jackson has been tabbed the MW Women’s Basketball Player of the Week, while Fresno State’s Kylee Fox has been named the MW Freshman of the Week.

PLAYER OF THE WEEK

KIARA JACKSON, UNLV

Junior, Guard, Grand Prairie, Texas/South Grand Prairie HS

  • Led the Lady Rebels to a 2-0 week including wins over Northern Arizona (72-53) and Arizona (72-53).
  • Averaged 19 points, eight assists and three rebounds per game, while shooting 53 percent from the field (16-for-30), 50 percent from the 3-point line (1-1). She was perfect from the free throw line (2-2).
  • Against NAU, logged 17 points, shot 50 percent from the field (7-for-14) and was perfect from beyond the arc and the free-throw line, adding nine assists, three rebounds and one block.
  • In the nearly 20 points win over the Wildcats, scored 21 points, tying her career-high points per game, on 9-for-16 shooting. She dished out seven assists, pulled down three rebounds and secured one steal.

FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK

KYLEE FOX, FRESNO STATE

Forward, Richland, Washington/Richland HS

  • Helped the Bulldogs to a 1-1 week with a loss to Portland State (61-72) and a win over UC San Diego (71-52).
  • Averaged 13.5 points and 1.5 rebounds, shooting 63 percent from the field (10-for-16) and 58 percent from outside the arc (7-for-12).
  • Against Portland, recorded five 3-pointers and 19 points, both career highs, on 7-for-11 shooting, including a 5-for-8 effort from behind the arc. Also contributed four steals and two assists.
  • Against UC San Diego, tallied eight points on 3-for-5 shooting, including a pair of 3-pointers. She added three steals, two rebounds and two assists.
