COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – New Mexico graduate Charlotte Kohl has been tabbed the MW Women’s Basketball Player of the Week, while San José State freshman Jyah Lovett is named the MW Freshman of the Week.

Graduate, Center, Giessen, Germany/Mississippi State

  • Led the Lobos to a 75-74 win over Texas A&M-Commerce.
  • Logged her first career double-double with a career-high 14 points and career-high 20 rebounds.
  • Also recorded a career-high four blocks and one assist.

FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK

JYAH LOVETT, SAN JOSÉ STATE

Guard, San Gabriel, California/ Bella Vista College Preparatory

  • Helped the Spartans to a 1-1 week with a loss to Montana State (62-49) and a win over Loyola Marymount (61-53).
  • Averaged 12.4 points per game, while shooting 41 percent from the field and 86 percent from the free throw line.
  • Against Montana State, posted a then career-high 16 points, four assists, two steals and one block.
  • Against LMU, logged a career-high 17 points, three rebounds, three steals, and two assists.
