MW Men's Basketball Weekly Release - Feb. 13

AROUND THE MOUNTAIN WEST  

• The MW has four teams in the top 40, five teams ranked in the top 50 and six programs in the top 85 of the Feb. 13 NET rankings.
• The Mountain West is one of six conferences (Big 12, 8; Big Ten, 6; SEC, 5; MW, 4; ACC, 4; Big East, 4) that have four or more teams ranked among the top 37 of the NET rankings.
• The Mountain West is the best men’s basketball conference on the west coast. The MW has the fifth-best NET ranking and the best in the west ahead of the Pac-12 and WCC.
• The MW and Big 12 are the only two conferences in which every program has a NET ranking of 200 or better.
• The Mountain West is the only Conference that has five teams with 19 or more wins on the season.
• The MW owns a 99-39 (.717) nonconference record in 2022-23, which is the fifth-best nonconference record among the 32 conferences in the nation.
• The MW is one of five conferences (Big 12, Big Ten, C-USA and SEC) that owns a nonconference winning percentage of .700 or better.
• The Mountain West’s nonconference winning percentage (.717) is the Conference’s best nonconference winning percentage since 2012-13 (.761).
• Mountain West teams have a combined nine wins against teams from the Big Ten, Pac-12 and SEC this season.
• Two Mountain West squads (San Diego State, 3; Nevada, 8) rank among the top-10 toughest schedules in 2022-23 according to the NCAA.
• San Diego State remained in the Associated Press Top 25 Poll at No. 21 and the USA Today Coaches Poll at No. 20 this week. Additionally, Nevada is receiving votes in both polls, while Boise State is garnering votes in the AP poll.
