LAS VEGAS – The Mountain West announced the Old Trapper Women’s Volleyball Players of the Week today, following the first week of the 2026 season. Wyoming’s Paige Lauterwasser was tabbed the MW Offensive Player of the Week, while UC Davis’s Ximena Cordero Barr was named the MW Defensive Player of the Week and fellow Aggie Isabella Umpierre picked up the MW Freshman of the Week nod. 

OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
PAIGE LAUTERWASSER, WYOMING
Senior, Outside, Naperville, Illinois/Naperville North HS

• Led the Cowgirls to a 2-0 week with wins over Texas Tech ( 3-1) and St. Thomas (3-0). 
• Totaled 27 kills, a .500 hitting efficiency, three assists and two service aces. 
• Against the Red Raiders, logged 14 kills, one assist and one service ace.
• Against the Tigers, registered 13 kills, hit .600, two assists and one service ace. 

 
DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
XIMENA CORDERO BARR, UC DAVIS
Junior, Libero, Tijuana, Mexico/Otay Ranch HS

• Guided the Aggies to a 1-2 week with a win against Northern Colorado (3-1) and losses to Colorado State (0-3) and No. 11 SMU (2-3).
• Across the week, collected 43 digs and a .942 reception percentage. 
• At Colorado State, logged 15  digs and a .950 reception percentage on 20 attempts. 
• At Northern Colorado, registered 13 digs and a .885 reception percentage on 26 attempts. 
• Against No. 11 SMU, recorded 15 digs on a .975 reception percentage and 40 attempts.

 
FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK
ISABELLA UMPIERRE, UC DAVIS
Freshman, Opposite, Windermere, Florida/Lake Highland Prep.

• Helped the Aggies to a 1-2 week to open the season. 
• Across 11 sets of action, logged 33 kills, 20 digs, four blocks and four service aces.
• At Colorado State, notched two kills, one dig, one block and one service ace.
• At Northern Colorado, logged 13 kills, nine digs, three blocks and one service ace. 
• Against No. 11 SMU, posted a double-double with a team-high 18 kills and 10 digs and contributed two service aces.
