LAS VEGAS– Air Force has been selected as the preseason favorite to capture the 2026 Mountain West women’s soccer regular-season title as voted on by the league’s 11 head coaches.
The Falcons garnered 96 points and seven first-place votes, earning the top spot in the preseason coaches poll. Last season, Air Force earned the No. 2 seed in the Credit Union 1 Mountain West Women’s Soccer Championship after finishing the Conference slate with a 6-2-2 record.
Wyoming was selected to finish the upcoming season in second place with 83 points and one first-place vote, while New Mexico was picked third with 82 points and two first-place votes. Also receiving a first-place vote was Grand Canyon with 79 points and chosen to finish fourth.
Colorado College was selected fifth in the poll with 59 points, while Hawai’i rounded out the top half of the predicted order of finish with 50 points in sixth place and UNLV was picked seventh with 44 points.
UC Davis was tabbed eighth with 37 points, followed by UTEP in ninth with 27 points, Nevada 10th with 25 points and San José State 11
th with 23 points.
The Mountain West also announced the 2026 MW Women’s Soccer Watch List, as selected by the Conference’s head coaches. Among the 33 players to watch in 2026, five were All-Mountain West selections last season, including 2025 MW Offensive Player of the Year Annika Jost.
