LAS VEGAS – San José State sophomore forward Amir Anwary has been named Mountain West Offensive Player of the Week, while UNLV goalkeeper Hugo Lemos was selected as the MW Defensive Player of the Week.
 
There was no freshman of the week selection.
 
OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
AMIR ANWARY, SAN JOSÉ STATE
Sophomore, Forward, Livermore, California/Granada HS

• Led San José State to 1-1 record last week with a win over Saint Mary’s (4-2) and a loss to Cal Poly (3-0).
• Recorded two goals and two assists for six points.
• Recorded all six points against the Gaels for the first multi-goal, multi-assist match of his career.

 
DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
HUGO LEMOS, UNLV
Senior, Goalkeeper, A Coruna, Spain/ RC Deportivo de la Coruña

• Helped UNLV to a 1-1 mark last week with a 2-1 win over CSU Bakersfield and a 1-0 loss at nationally ranked Kansas City.
• Totaled eight saves in two starts, while allowing two goals. Also recorded an assist.
• Assisted the first goal of the match against the Roadrunners.
•  Also tallied a season-high six saves in the victory over CSUB.
