U.S. AIR FORCE ACADEMY, Colo. - Drew LaComb has been named head baseball coach at Air Force, according to an announcement from Interim Director of Athletics Dr. Nancy Hixson. LaComb has served as assistant coach the last three seasons.

"We are very excited to announce the selection of Drew LaComb as the next head baseball coach at Air Force," Hixson said. "His experience, energy, enthusiasm and knowledge of our program truly set him apart during our national search. Drew played an integral role in building AF Baseball these past few seasons while also building leaders of character for our Air Force and Space Force. I am confident Drew will continue to elevate Air Force Baseball for many years to come as our head coach."

"It is a true honor and a blessing to have the opportunity to be the next head baseball coach at our United States Air Force Academy," expressed LaComb. "I truly believe this is the best baseball coaching position in America because what we do here is different. Our mission within our program is to not only win baseball games, but it is also to develop great men, great husbands, and great fathers who are ready to lead as future officers and warfighters for our country."

LaComb spent the past three seasons on the Falcons' staff, serving as offensive coordinator and hitting coach after joining the Academy in 2024. In his first season, he helped guide Air Force to an 18-12 Mountain West record and the first Mountain West Regular Season Championship in program history. Five Falcons earned All-Mountain West honors that season, including the Mountain West Co-Player of the Year.

In 2025, LaComb saw the Falcons to a 20-34 overall record and a 12-18 mark in conference play. Air Force hit .282 with 499 hits, 364 runs and a .445 slugging percentage. In his final season as an assistant, LaComb directed an offense that propelled the Falcons to a 15-9 Mountain West record and a second-place finish in the conference standings, while the team produced the Mountain West Player of the Year and two All-Conference honorees.

On his staff, LaComb stated, "Our coaching staff will execute the mission by serving those who serve us, using the game of baseball to teach life and leadership lessons to our cadet student athletes, and we will push our team to be the best at the Academy in all three mission elements: academics, military, and athletics." Furthermore, LaComb mentioned, "We have the right people in our program to build an incredible team, and in the game of baseball, you win with the right people."

"I am excited that LaComb was selected to lead our Academy's baseball program," expressed former Head Coach, Director of Leadership and Institutional Strategy, Mike Kazlausky. "He is not only an exceptional coach but also understands our mission of developing warfighters. Under his leadership, baseball's trajectory will continue to climb and the mission will remain clear. We are America's Team!"

Prior to joining Air Force, LaComb spent four seasons as the head coach at Regis University, compiling an 87-77-1 record and leading the Rangers to three consecutive RMAC Tournament appearances, including the 2023 championship game. He previously spent three seasons as an assistant coach at Regis after playing for the Rangers from 2014-16, where he posted a .361 career batting average. LaComb also played at Mesa Community College, serving as captain of the 2014 NJCAA Division II national championship team.
