NCAA OUTDOOR TRACK AND FIELD CHAMPIONSHIPS INFORMATION

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Mountain West student-athletes will compete in this week’s 2026 NCAA championships in Eugene, Oregon after qualifying at the NCAA West Preliminaries in Fayetteville, Arkansas May 27-30. The national meet begins Wednesday, June 10 and concludes on Saturday, June 13 at Hayward Field.

The Mountain West has a total of 23 individual representatives with 11 competing in 12 events on the men’s side and 12 in 11 events on the women’s side in Eugene.

New Mexico’s Pamela Kosgei will be looking to defend her NCAA titles in the 5,000-meter race and the 10,000-meter race after she became just the fifth woman in NCAA history to complete the 5k/10k double at the same Outdoor Championships and the third since 1998 last June.

On the men’s side, Habtom Samuel, the 2024 NCAA 10k Outdoor Champion, will eye the top of podium in the 5,000-meter and 10,000-meter races after finishing as the runner-up in both events a year ago. Air Force’s Texas Tanner will try to capture his first NCAA title, competing in both discus and the men’s hammer with the senior entering the hammer competition with the top qualifying mark (74.49m) in the field.
