PULLMAN, Wash. (June 9, 2025) – Five Washington State Baseball student-athletes were named to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Team.

Outfielder Logan Johnstone, left-handed pitcher Nick Lewis, right-handed pitcher Luke Meyers, shortstop Gavin Roy and first baseman Ryan Skjonsby were all named to the All-District Team while Johnstone will be on the All-America ballot.

Johnstone posted a 3.51 GPA while graduating with his finance degree. The redshirt-junior from Los Gatos, Calif. earned All-Mountain West Conference honors after hitting .337 with team-highs of 17 doubles, nine home runs and 17 multiple-hit games while his 40 RBI were second on the team. In conference play, Johnstone led the Cougars with a .387 average with 12 doubles, eight home runs and 27 RBI.

Lewis, a redshirt-freshman from Corona, Calif., owns a 3.87 GPA while majoring in economics. In 16 appearances including 14 as a starter, Lewis was second on team with 74 inning, worked five-plus innings in nine starts and earned wins over Seattle U, at Air Force, San Diego State and at home against Air Force.

Meyers, a junior from Denver, posted a 3.69 GPA while majoring in general studies in his first year at WSU. Meyers split time out of the bullpen and as a starter, appeared in 15 games including nine starts, tied for the team-lead with five wins and added two saves. The righthander recorded 50 strikeouts in 66.2 innings and earned wins over San Diego State, San Jose State, at New Mexico, at home against Nevada and Air Force while notching saves in wins over Iowa and Seattle U.

Roy, a junior from Sudbury, Ontario, has posted a 3.60 GPA while majoring in general history in his first season at Washington State. Roy was the only player to start all 54 games, starting at shortstop while hitting .288 with five doubles, three home runs, 36 RBI and eight stolen bases. Roy tied for second on the team with 15 multiple-hit games, was third with eight multiple-RBI games, recorded a 13-game hitting streak and produced a team-best 27-game on-base streak.

Skjonsby, a junior from Long Beach, Calif., posted a 3.78 GPA while majoring in general studies in his first season at WSU. Skjonsby appeared in 41 games including 48 as a starter, recorded eight doubles, three home runs and 23 RBI while posting 12 multiple-hit games.

The 2025 Academic All-District® Baseball teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation’s top student-athletes for their combined performances on the diamond and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes baseball honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA. To be eligible, student-athletes must be a sophomore academically and own a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher.

Academic All-District® honorees were considered for advancement to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced July 1, 2025.
