COLLEGE STATION, Texas – After setting a Mountain West and San Diego State record on Thursday, Shaquena Foote put together another impressive performance in the 400 meters to lead the Aztec track and field team at the NCAA West Quarterfinals on Saturday at E.B. Cushing Stadium and move on to the NCAA Outdoor Championships in Eugene, Oregon.

Foote finished with a time of 51.38 seconds, good for fifth best in program history, with three of the top five times now belonging to her. She finished second in her heat and placed seventh overall to advance to Eugene.

In the 4×100 relay, San Diego State sent out Mikaela Warr, Jada Pierre, Olivia Hicks and Aji Mbye to run. Their 44.72 time was sixth in the second heat and 20th overall, finishing ahead of Cal State Fullerton, Washington State and Central Arkansas while Arkansas did not finish.

Anna Mager ran a 59.95 in the 400 hurdles, finishing seventh in her heat and 23rd overall, beating out UC Irvine’s Jazzmine Davis (1:00.29).

In the 100 hurdles, Charlize James did not start.
