COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – New Mexico’s Pamela Kosgei has been named the Mountain West Women’s Track Athlete & Freshman of the Week for the second straight week and third time during the outdoor season, while Utah State’s Breanna Raven earned the MW Women’s Field Athlete of the Week honor.

On the men’s side, New Mexico’s Cam Watts garnered the MW Men’s Track Athlete of the Week award for the second time in the last three weeks, Wyoming’s Cam Burkett picked up the MW Men’s Field Athlete of the Week honor and Utah State’s Ayodele Ojo was named the MW Men’s Freshman of the Week.

WOMEN’S TRACK ATHLETE & FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK
PAMELA KOSGEI, NEW MEXICO
Freshman, Elgeyo-Marakwet County, Kenya/St. Agatha Mokpo Girls School

  • Finished first in the 10,000-meter race at the UNM Don Kirby Twilight.
  • Finished with a time of 31:58.52 at altitude (30:55.37 converted), which was a personal-best and stands as the second-fastest in collegiate history.
  • Holds the top time in the event in the NCAA outdoor season.

WOMEN’S FIELD ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
BREANNA RAVEN, UTAH STATE
Sophomore, Springfield, Oregon/Thurston HS

  • Finished first in the long jump at the Aggie Invitational with a jump of 6.11 meters, which ranks second in program history.
  • The long jump mark is top 10 in the Conference and the second-best by a sophomore.
  • Added a second-place finish in the 100 meter and was part of USU’s 4×100-meter relay team that took first with the second-fastest time (45.61) in program history.

MEN’S TRACK ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
CAM WATTS, NEW MEXICO
Senior, Tulsa, Oklahoma/Union HS/Texas Tech

  • Broke the UNM program in the 100-meter dash for the second time in the last three weeks in winning the event at the UNM Don Kirby Twilight.
  • Improved on his previous record by .16 seconds with a time of 10.08 (10.05 raw).
  • The time ranks No. 18 in the NCAA this season and third all-time in the MW.

MEN’S FIELD ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
CAM BURKETT, WYOMING
Junior, Casper, Wyoming/
Kelly Walsh HS

  • Won the shot put at the Border Dual against rival Colorado State.
  • Throw of 18.59 meters (61’0) is top distance in the MW and is one of only two in the conference over 60 feet this season.
  • Throw also ranks No. 41 in the NCAA this season and No. 6 in program history.

MEN’S FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK
AYODELE OJO, UTAH STATE
Freshman, Waxahachie, Texas/Waxahachie HS

  • Swept the 100-meter and 200-meter events at the Aggie Invitational.
  • Ran the fourth-fastest 100 meters and ninth-fastest 200 meters in program history, becoming the first Aggie to rank in the school top 10 in both events since 2016.
  • Second-fastest 100 meter in the MW this season and best of any freshman.
