COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Fresno State’s Mia Jacobs was selected as the Mountain West Women’s Basketball Player of the Week and UNLV’s Meadow Roland garnered the MW Women’s Basketball Freshman of the Week nod.

This is the third MW weekly honor for Jacobs and second for Roland in the 2024-25 season.

 

PLAYER OF THE WEEK

MIA JACOBS, FRESNO STATE

Junior, Forward, Perth, Australia/La Salle

  • Led the Bulldogs to a 2-0 week with wins over Nevada (65-59) on the road and at home against San José State (99-85).
  • Averaged a double-double with 29.5 points and 13 rebounds. Also added 2.5 assists and one assist per game.
  • Shot 58.1 percent from the field (18-for-31) and 71.4 percent from three (10-for-14) in two games.
  • At Nevada, logged 23 points, 15 rebounds, two assists, one steal and one block.
  • Against the Spartans, recorded a career-high 36 points, 11 rebounds and four steals.

 

FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK

MEADOW ROLAND, UNLV

Forward, Fresno, California/San Joaquin Memorial HS

  • Assisted the Lady Rebels to a 1-0 week with a win over in-state rival Nevada (68-59).
  • Coming off the bench, led the Scarlet and Gray with a career-high 17 points, nine rebounds and one block.
  • The forward shot 77.8 percent from the floor and was perfect from three-point range as well as the charity stripe.
