COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – San José State sophomore Nayeli Ti’a has been tabbed as the Mountain West Volleyball Offensive Player of the Week, while fellow sophomore Sierra Grizzle from Wyoming is the MW Volleyball Defensive Player of the Week. Nevada’s Kinsley Singleton garnered the MW Volleyball Freshman of the Week nod.

OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

NAYELI TI’A, SAN JOSÉ STATE

Sophomore, Outside Hitter, Livermore, California/Granada HS

  • Led San José State to a 3-0 week at the Hawkeye Invite, earning tournament MVP honors.
  • Averaged 5.9 kills per set, earned a perfect mark while serving on 48 attempts and logged three double-doubles on the weekend.
  • At Iowa, notched 18 kills, one assist and one service ace, helping the Spartans to a 3-1 victory.
  • Logged 18 kills in a 3-0 sweep of Delaware.
  • Tallied 23 kills, one assist and one service ace in the 3-0 win against California Baptist.

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

SIERRA GRIZZLE, WYOMING

Sophomore, Libero, Boise, Idaho/Mountain View

  • Played lockdown defense for the Cowgirls as they came away from the weekend unscathed with three wins while holding the opposition to .128, .168 and .152 hitting percentages.
  • Logged 61 total digs, averaging 5.08 per set.
  • In the sweep over UTRGV, logged 12 digs and a perfect reception percentage.
  • At Akron, logged 28 digs and posted a .938 reception percentage with only one error, holding the line for Wyoming through the five-set thriller.
  • Helped the Brown and Gold to a 3-1 victory at Cleveland State, while tallying 21 digs and another perfect reception percentage.

FRESHMAN PLAYER OF THE WEEK

KINSLEY SINGLETON, NEVADA

Freshman, Libero, Phoenix, Arizona/O’Connor HS

  • Helped the Wolf Pack to a 2-1 week with wins over Seattle (3-2) and Oregon State (3-2).
  • Averaged 4.14 digs per set and posted a .977 reception percentage and a .929 service percentage across 14 sets.
  • Against Seattle, logged 17 digs, five assists and one service ace.
  • Against Oregon State, totaled 21 digs, three assists and a perfect mark when receiving.
  • At CSU Bakersfield, tallied 20 digs, five assists and another perfect reception percentage.
