COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Utah State’s Kaylie Kofe was named the Old Trapper Mountain West Women’s Volleyball Offensive Player of the Week, while Boise State’s Bre Mitchell was tabbed the Defensive Player of the Week award. Wyoming rookie Sara Quigley garnered the Freshman of the Week nod.

This is the third career MW weekly honor for Mitchell, second for Kofe and first for Quigley.


OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
KAYLIE KOFE, UTAH STATE
Sophomore, Setter, Idaho Falls, Idaho/Bonneville HS

  • Led the Aggies to a 2-0 week with a pair of five-set wins over San José State and Boise State.
  • Averaged 12 assists per set and logged a total of 120 assists.
  • Against the Spartans, tallied 58 assists, three kills and two service aces.
  • Against the Broncos, logged a career-high and league-leading 62 assists, which are third-most in Division I this season, two kills and one service ace.

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
BRE MITCHELL, BOISE STATE
Senior, Libero, Temecula, California/CSUN

  • Guided the Broncos to a 1-1 week with a win over Fresno State (3-0) and a loss on the road at Utah State (2-3).
  • Averaged 4.5 digs per set and recorded a perfect reception percentage on 53 attempts.
  • Against the Bulldogs, registered 19 digs.
  • At Utah State, collected 17 digs.

FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK
SARA QUIGLEY, WYOMING
Setter, McKinney, Texas/McKinney Boyd HS

  • Helped the Cowgirls to a 2-0 week on the road with wins over Grand Canyon (3-2) and New Mexico (3-1).
  • Averaged 5.56 assists and 3.89 digs per set and hit .385 across nine sets of action on the way to recording two double-doubles for the Brown and Gold.
  • At GCU, recorded her first career double-double with 24 assists and a career high 19 digs. Also contributed three kills and three service aces.
  • At UNM, logged her second double-double with 26 assists and 16 digs, while also contributing three kills and two service aces.
